New fish!

It's hard to tell from the angle. Are you sure it's not a long nosed gar instead of an alligator gar? Alligators can actually get up to 10 ft long and are considered invasive species in some places. They're also great jumpers as anyone who's ever hooked one can tell.

I put the pic up on MFK for confirmation. Even if it's not an alligator gar, it's a pretty cool fish.
Not sure yet; depends on what I can find. Eventually, of course, I'll need a very large tank(pond?) indeed.

Deff a pond lol unless ur gonna be our next build thread for a giant diy tank!

I ask just because the long nose gar seems to be the one most commonly found in fish shops. Not to say it's not an alligator as I have no doubt they can be found as well.

Yeah, you'll need a very large pond. They get huge and hungry.

Either way, I think it'll be clearer when he gets bigger. The Cabela's near Wheeling(WV) has a bunch of long nose gar in their big aquarium. I was checking them out this morning, pretty cool!
