easiest fish to breed/spawn?

I had some Convict chiclids and I had to go out of state for three months. The person I assigned to take care of them didn't do anything but feed them while I was gone. I came home and you could not see in the tank at all , it was dark green, I was scared and did a 50 percent water change while i was cleaning the tank I found 8 baby fry already grown a bit. So I would say they arent very hard to breed.

Convicts are pretty aggressive aren't they? Like they would eat or kill normal community fish for no reason right? Has anyone successfully bred dwarf gouramis here? Im curious on a scale of 1-10 how hard are they and are they easier then breeding bettas?

Convicts are capable of defending their brood against fish much larger than themselves. I wasn't suggesting to anyone to breed them in a community, though it's possible in a large enough tank and with the proper tankmates.

Im not saying having them breed is a community, Im just saying from what i read that they aren't good community fish to have with like dwarf gouramis or platy. Am i wrong on that?

Your question in the first post had nothing to do with compatibility - you simply asked what were easy fish to breed. If you are looking for an easy fish to breed that would be compatible with an exisiting community, would be better to ask that.

The trouble with easy to breed fish is they won't stop spawning and there are so many on the market, so no one wants them.

The reason i ask about compatibility, what i am really looking for is aggression and aggression goes hand in hand with breeding. When some fish breed they will kill their mate or any fish in the tank so that is why i ask that. I dont want a fish that breeds really easy but then has to be in a 100 gal tank all by itself because it is way to aggressive. I was asking about fish that breed really easy and i like to know how there aggression is because i stay away from aggressive fish and you have to seperate their fry too so they dont kill each other. Could you have cicilids in with lets say some platies or dwarf gouramis. I guess i should have stated NON aggressive fish that are easy to breed. I understand some fish get aggressive during breeding and thats fine, just not one that is aggressive all the time! I also ask about the fish people mentioned cuz im interested in them. Im not just gonna go out and buy a fish cuz its easy to breed. I like to read and know everything about the fish i go out and get before i get it home. I made that mistake one time with a chinese algae eater that killed almost all my fish, i thought it was a fish that just ate algae but i was wrong on that cuz it killed my birthing platies! I dont want to make that kind of mistake again!
