Mafia 2014 #1-- FF1 Simple--The Play

Jpappy, the fact of the matter is that when I placed my vote I didn't think Zaffy would be lynched. I still think it's a bit far fetched to assume he would be lynched or to ask why I think he wouldn't (I just don't... meh). As for agitated, I'm not entire sure what word would fit your reaction best. You definitely reacted though, and I took it as agitation. And we all know I overexplain when people accuse me of stuff, I'm still working on that aspect of my personality, I'm annoyed to say, though I think I'm getting better. Maybe a little at least.

Nice to see some discussion going on now. I would love to stay but this is the latest I have been up for quite some time and need to call it a night.

I will pop back on in the morning and then check again after the Formula 1 race.

Your response to my post about FF's vote, followed by your reply to FF. Do you not think that whoever gets lynched D1 could be lynched by a 1 vote margin?

I was merely pointing out that FF's post bothered me. Perhaps I should have elaborated more at the end of my post but I didn't feel it necessary.

I did, however, see some game related posting arise out of my post which was the main goal of it.

I suppose it could be a single vote margin, but I'm failing to connect the dots here...please spell it out for me so I don't make any incorrect conclusions here.

My disagreement was less situational and more about the general point you were trying to make. By saying that FF possibly chose Zaffy because he's essentially a threat as an innocent completely ignores any possibility that both FF and Zaffy are mafia. In addition, there's no tiptoeing around the fact that no one innocent is inherently more valuable than another (aside from PR's) in a numbers game. To suggest that someone might be scum because they happened to vote an experienced player, especially early in the game, is silly to me. Targeting players through the lynch is a very inefficient mafia strategy at this point in the game...IMO.

I'd also like to clarify that everyone here is 'experienced' though how much we've learned is up for debate.

The above post meaning, more or less, that it would be kinda hard to not vote an experienced player this game :)

Sure, I meant he's well advised to minimize posting to keep from turning another game into the FF show. That would apply in his case regardless which side he's on.

Thanks, in that context I now understand.

I reacted because you're starting to spew nonsense after I was more than willing to give you the benefit of the doubt regarding your vote. For you to say that you assumed someone wouldn't get lynched over 24 hours later with 7/8 votes still in need of a home is too far fetched for me not to question, especially since you are implying that you didn't want your vote to matter.

Hi all, had a busy couple days just got the time to sit down and read now.

Honestly don't see the big deal behind voting a vet (everyone besides me and FF?) early so that you don't ud. What seems weird is then being able to keep posting about it, defending yourself afterwards. FF if you were going to be so busy that you had to throw out a vote right away, then why were you suddenly able to post again. The WIFOMs are starting to make my head hurt, but using no activity as an excuse to cast an early vote and then being one of the more prolific posters anyways (out of a whopping 2 pages, but still) is scummy without a doubt.

You miss 1 piece of code when you go to copy a quote and the entire post gets ruined haha. Well, assuming I get back tomorrow and manage to read everything I'll reply to any questions then. If not, well, here's to hoping I don't get lynched! -raises a glass of cola-

Uh what post are you referring to? Care to at least summarize it for us?

I really want to vote FF right now , but with such a small game I feel like a wrong vote is going to screw us over really early and I have literally one thing to go off of. Then again, I don't want to UD and screw us over even more. Guess I'll have to sleep on it and vote tommorow.

Bally, I'm not sure what you're getting at since I clearly see some joking around early in the thread. Maybe you would care to share your interpretation of the first 12 or so posts before Kash's?

I don't particularly like the little nudge of support by DD there. Don't mean to imply a coordinated effort, I just find it to be a very convenient type of post without having to say much...

I agree, to an extent. Joke-votes are certainly an easy way for scum to hide...my problem with that is that being the first to vote entirely is not a very good thing to do if hiding is your intention. To me, there are too many scenarios that could "make sense" whether FF is innocent or guilty (very little of FF's game play makes sense from the standpoint from anyone but FF). WIFOM situations galore.

What I don't really agree with at all is your last statement. I don't see how that has any bearing whatsoever on FF's motives unless you are already making some pretty hefty assumptions.

Yes there was joking around. Kash said that the jokes were making her laugh, and I didn't see any jokes. It's one thing for the posts to make her laugh, but the fact that she directly called them jokes is what t my attention. Whether or not it is actually substantial, to me, has yet to be determined.

So there was joking around but no jokes? What? Am I missing some weird point about semantics here? I don't see how this could ever be determined to be something substantial...ever...

Have you seen most day 1's? They usually end up with votes scattered fairly evenly, so the chances of Zaffy being the person lynched at exactly 1/8. So forgive me for assuming my vote would mean nothing on day 1 with a 1/8 chance of it being on the lynched guy -_-

The only answer to that is I am surprisingly not tired after my work shift. I'll probably pay for it tomorrow (almost 1am right now) but even so I can't fall asleep -_-

Regarding the post, it was this one:

7pm Eastern would be my timezone, but I'll be at work then so I definitely couldn't get away with a last minute vote.

Fair enough. I doubt that we'll have a scum vote day one, but we can hope :)

the wizard;2892633I would be more comfortable with a vote cast early in the morning the day of night fall to avoid UD than I am with one cast early morning the first day of the game. Even before there has been a chance of game related posting to occur.[/QUOTE said:
Long post short, I am a busy person with a load of classwork to do, combined with working today in grocery which I expected to be a lot more tired from. I'm busy tomorrow too with lunch with my dad, a take home test for MicroEcon, and editing an English paper into a final draft, + working in the evening. I don't think I'd be able to make a very good vote for day one regardless of what is posted over the course of the day, and I honestly don't have time to worry about my day 1 vote. Day 2 I'll have more time since I'm not crunching my schoolwork.

the wizard;2892633One more thing that bothers me about this vote is that his "crap shoot" vote fell to some one who in the past has demonstrated competent ability to root out scum. Something the town can ill afford if he is innocent.[/QUOTE said:
I honestly doubt that Zaffy will be voted off - besides the fact that he IS a good player, there is also my reason for it: because he questioned my status as #1. If THAT gets him lynched... well then I'd be impressed at the people who took it and ran with it.

I accidentally missed the ] at the end of Wizards quote code thingy and it screwed up the entire post. Wiz's comments are red.

Anyway, sorry for getting myself into the center of things even before Day 1 is over lol. Guess some things never change. My opinion is one of them, and my vote won't be moving because I have no reason to move it.
