I have a 5 ft 80 gallon with 6 silver dollars, 1 pictus cat, 1 geo brasiliensis and a featherfin catfish. I wanna know what other catfish can I have in the tank, preferably synodontis. I already know what middle to top water fish I want.

Well, I have to say you're pretty well stocked for adult sizes of your fish. I bet they're small now & the tank seems lightly populated but wait 6 months or so.

I thought that a featherfin cat was a Synodontis.

Yeah, depending what other fish you want I'd say you're stocked. So what other fish do you want? And yes, featherfin is a common name for syno. eupterus.

I wouldn't say he's completely stocked depending on his filtration and water change schedule I would add a few more geos and I'm a fan of rose line sharks

Pictus usually prefer to be kept in a group AFAIK. If you really need to add fish, I'd go with 2 of the same species you have.

It's not so much water quality as swimming space I worry about, you can always change more water more often... but that doesn't address the issue I see on the horizon. Silver $ get 6 inches...& there's you mid-water fish capacity w/the geo somewhere in between bottom & mid-water.

The brasiliensis is not there for long term, I want to add some dwarf cichlids like a apistos and kribs, I have a all pond solutions efx filter which is rated for tanks of 1000 litres(265) gallons and I do a 30 to 50 percent water change a week. I really want some more catfish but don't know any that would work, my tank could be fully stocked and that's fine but it seems to have quite a bit of space, the silver dollars are three to four inches and the featherfin is about 7 inches. Can you recommend any tank mates.
