Hi. I remember seeing a post here about Wal-mart stopping the sell of fish Jan or Feb of this year. Is that true? I have a hard time seeing the fish at Walmart so I would like to see the fish go.

Unfortunately, I believe they are continuing their fish sales at the moment, along with providing their "expert" advise....

Our wal-mart still has fish, and yesterday I went by them and there were not that many, but when I went back later b/c I forgot the dog food, they got in a whole bunch of stuff. Alot of them were dead or dieing it was sad to see. I hope they do stop. But some people say that thier wal mart is atcually good with thiers, mine isnt though.

one by me still sells 'em...least they did a couple of weeks ago. I was really surprised to see that in addition to their usual fare (platies, mollies, zebra danios, etc.) they were selling red-belly pacus. They were also selling neon tetras for $2.69 a pop, which is crazy as I can get them for $1.30 at my lfs...$0.80 if they're really small.

The Wal-Mart here in San Diego does. Just for fun I grabbed a small fish bowl form the shelf and went up to the fish section clerk and pointed to the black moors and said "I want 4 of those." The only thing she said was that I need to put gravel in that fish bowl before I put my the fish in. I put down the fish bowl found a manager and proceeded to ask the manager why they would put someone in charge of fish sales that knows nothing about fish. Long story short, nothing I said mattered to either one of them. I did pick up a couple of dvd's on sale and socks so the trip was not a complete waist.

Sadly no, walmart still carries fish. The 2 stores nearish me have also just recieved their made for valentines day tatooed fish. :mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

They are still torturing fish here!

I think they should still sell ghost shrimp, every time I got there their ghost shrimp look fantastic, most likely because they are so well fed from eating all the dead and dying plants and fish in their tanks....

Last time I was in there they did. Thats where I got my black moor last summer. They said a 2g bowl would be great for him, for is whole life.

I just had an idea. Since no one that works there is that knowledgeable about fish(and most other things). Because of the high turn over of people you could prob. get away with this. You could just type up some simple fish care faqs print it out and tape it up some where in the fish department. Then check back later and see if it still is there.
