HELP!

Hi, i have just got a normal 3ft tank as a gift with goldfish..also included was an Eheim 2213 Canister Filter and it wont work, please help me!

solved... hoses wrong way and air in the pump... lol

is it a brand new filter? if s just take it back for exchange. i havent had much experiance with canister filters, but when my HOB doesnt seem to be wrkin i chk to make sure everything is in properly. thing like the intake tube is connected and the motor is in. could be something similar to this with yur canister. when ou plug it in those it make a sound or is it completely silent?
