www.ahsupply.com getting 2x55 watt upgrade kit, which bulbs do I get?

I would not get bulbs from AH Supply since they don't sell the GE 9325k bulbs. I prefer the GE bulbs. But be advised they can appear a bit pink at first.

I have a link in my Guide to where you can get the GE bulbs for under $15 each.

DO you have this set up? Will the GE bulbs fit into the 2x55watt kit? Because the lights you get off of GE are smaller.

So I should go with the 2x55watt kit with 2 GE bulbs?

When you have basically decent bulbs for plants to compare, then the appearance to you becomes the issue. I am the exact opposite of Rex. I dislike how higher k bulbs make my tanks looks and do use the AH Supply ones. I have the 55w 6700 K and like them. But I also use their lower K ones as well in one tank.

I even use some GE Plant & Aquarium Fluor. bulbs which are very low K. They produce light that somewhat looks like tanin staining in the water and I want that in some tanks.

The plants in all my tanks, despite using vastly bifferent bulbs tank to tank, all do fine.

It's what I use. And the bulbs fit fine. And it's a case where the listed k is deceiving. You would think a 9325k bulb would be bluish. But these are more of a pink/purple at first. Fish look great under them and plants grow great. They are the bulbs that All Glass used for many years in their CF fixtures and they still use the NO bulbs in the same k is some of their standard fixtures.

I use the 5500k bulbs from AH. You choose your bulbs mainly on your viewing preference. Call AH and ask, he helped me choose.
