I finaly found a decent tank and stand to buy to make my fish happier! its l4ftxw1.5ftxh2ft comes complete setup and 2 fish for 100$. im assuming this guys going to drain it when i come to get it. does this mean i can just fill it up wait for the temp to stabilize and start throwing my fish in? or will i have to cycle it.
If i were to cycle it would it be best to get all the plants and gravel out of my little tank and add it to the big tank with the fish and just check my levels? fishy cycle....

set up the bigger tank, stabilize temp, move filters from small tank onto big tank (plus whatever new filters you might have) and put the fish in. moving the filters over will bring most of your bacteria to the new tank, and the extra water volume will ease any mini-cycle that might occur. you shouldn't have a problem.

but if you add all the fish and all the filters (or filter media) at the same time then you bring over all the bacteria you need right away.

lol. you are forgiven.

yep... i need to stop being lazy in some of these posts. keep forgetting a thing here or there.

I'll be nice... :)

Keep as much of the substrate wet, and as much of the filter media as you can. You should be set to go with minimal problems.

Damp newspaper laid on top of the gravel after draing the water will keep your bacteria alive for the transport.
