Did I miss my ammonia spike?

Hey guys have nw had my tank cycling for a month. Am happy with how it's all going but where is this ammonia spike I've been reading about. I have plenty of LR in my tank so thought my ammonia should have risen with things dying off.

My current parameters are; ph 8.4, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20. The only rise in ammonia I have ever recorded was 2 weeks into my cycling and I recorded a level of 0.5. My next recording 2 days later at 0. Is there a chance I just missed recording the ammonia spike? I thought it should get much higher and take some time to lower

Cheers

Depending on the quality and cureness of the live rock, you cold potentially never see anything more than what you have..I would be tempted to suggest that your rock is fully cured so that may be all you'll ever see...If my assumptions are correct, your nitrATEA should start to fall down to about 5 - 10, when that happens and the ammonia and nitrITE stay at zero for a week, i would say your cycle has finished...

Cheers mate your always so helpful. Maybe we should setup a ask Uncle atnixon forum instead of the newbie section
