Instead of dipping my fish's food in vita-chem (a fish vitamin supplement), I was thinking I could make a vitamin water solution made from water and human vitamins.

Think this would work?

Also, as an alternative to calcium dosing, could I add regular calium chloride to the tank?

And instead of garlic supplements, could i dip the fishes food in garlic water?

anybody?

Well aquarium calcium supplements are basically water and calcium chloride.

Im going to jump the gun and purchase a calcium monitor, aswell as feed my fish food dipped in a mixture of vitamins, garlic, and water

A lot of discus hobbyists mix human vitamins with their food mixes. Making a water solution shouldn't be any different.

I grind up about 10 capsules of centrum day one vitamins and mix it in with about 3lbs of BH mix. Never thought of just making a water solution.

thanks greyhound. Ill make a small solution of 250ml of water, 1 vitamin, and garlic extract.

whats BH? Ive heard of BS (no not the poop bs, the brine shrimp bs), heard of bw, but never bh....

BH= Beef Heart

I purchase pre-trimmed BeefHeart from Stater Bros. I trim it sommore when I get home and run it through my Meat Grinder.

Along with BH, I will also mix in a pound of deveined shrimp, spirulina flakes, spirulina powder, astaxanthin, and crushed vitamins, crushed garlic, sometimes peas and spinach. Mix em' up and regrind them again. Oh..one envelope of gelatin binder..non flavored.

Freeze them up in 1lb baggies. My fish love it. It dirties your water a bit so I don't feed them BH all the time.
