xp3

i understand that, all surface area has bacteria on it, whats wrong with adding more surface area? Even if no good comes of it at least theres nothing wrong with it. As i said, i would have gotten the xp2 if i didnt want that bio chamber.

clear to the eye and clear to the health :)

well anyway i ordered bio-balls the today, cheaper than those rena star things. I think it was a 1 gallon pack (no idea how that works)

In my Xp3 I have what came with it-Bio-chem Zorb(I think it's carbon), the polishing pad, and the sponges.

I ordered the one gallon of Bio Balls from Big Al's, it's like a plastic bag full of them. Think a gallon zip loc bag full, and that's the amount.

I also got ceramic rings, and those are in the filter as well.

I like the filter a lot, but I made the mistake of cutting my hoses before hooking up my co2 reactor. If you're planning on running co2 through the filter, wait to cut the hoses. Mine were a it too short, so the PVC reactor sticks out the back of the tank. Oh well.

came in the mail today, it came with
30 ppi sponge
20 ppi sponge
activated carbon
Fine filtration cloth.

I added some marineland rite size filtration pads and bioballs

My current configuration is:
______
20 ppi
Marineland rite size filtration pad
30 ppi
bioballs
Micro filtration pad
bioballs
my question is, where should the marineland thing go?

This is how I would put in a XP3.

Bottom tray - sponges
Middle tray - biomax
Top tray - biomax
