2007 official American idol thread

thought I'd bring this thread back to life, seeing how AI's at the finals.

i was surprised to see Melinda Doolittle get voted off.. She's got a great voice.

At this point I'm hoping Jordon takes it. That blake character gets to me. . .
 
they never had any good contestants to begin with.......


but that's a biased opinion based on my hatred of that show. talk about a waste of primetime programming IMO. ;)

That's not a waste of primetime programming! They're making millions and millions and millions and millions and millions and millions BECAUSE it's primetime! It's genius! Afterall, money makes the world go around....

My favorites are the horrendous singers in the beginning. But since they're all gone now, I'll have to say GO BLAKE!
 
Let's not forget they raised $70+ M for good charities. Unfortunately, it wasn't too long ago (2 years?) That Live 8 raised 60 BILLION for the same kind of charities. Wonder what happened to it all????

I think possibly people didn't feel the need to vote for Melinda - her future is assured, she'll have a great career without Nigel's contract. But Blake is iffy, because he is different, and as great and as much as I love Jordin, she's more likely to fade without fan assistance, the Melinda who already made her career singing (wouldn't *I* love to be a recording back up singer!!! :/) even without AI.

Blake is the only person I've ever seen on AI who could dance and sing at the same time. (Back in season 2 there was a woman who did it, and looked great but didn't sing well enough maybe?)
 
I have yet to see "what's his name" sing with anything resembling feelings. Jordin and Melinda seem to have it most of the time.

Don't get me wrong. The dude can sing... I'm just not feelin' it.

the dudes sucked extra bad this year, thats for sure. i dont think any of them were worth it.
