Just been looking at my fish and have noticed that one of my Percula clowns have a black spot just behind his fin.

Can anyone please tell me what it is ?as i am very worried now.
He is swimming around ok and is eating fine.

Can't put him in my Nano tank as i have 2 Peculas in there already.

How do i set up a QT tank for him? and what do i need to be able to do this.

Sorry no pic as he is swimming around to fast.

Thanks.

is it a true perc?
it's probably just his coloring

but,
for a QT all you really need is a heater, airstone, maybe some sand, and some LR. a small filter is optional but best.

Actually, I don't think you'd want sand or rock in a quarantine tank. If there are pests on your fish, you don't want them to gain a foothold.

Quite agree there, all you need is some PVC tubing for the fish to hide in and feel safe and to reduce the stress on the fish...

QT tank- just a heater and filter should do since it's temporary. Bare-bottom is preferred as mentioned. Are you able to get a picture of the black spot?

Does it look like any of these in this link?

Is your clownfish still eating and acting normally? What corals do you have?

The last pic of the little yellow clown has a noticeable black spot on his rear end and its just what looks like on my clown only behind his fin.

1...Corals i have in the tank are........
1...Pulsating Xenia.
1...Button polyp.
1...GSP.
3 leathers can't remember the names sorry.

Are you talking about the link where the poster refers to their pigmentation? How's your clown acting/eating?
