I've thought about this as well when playing (as now) as an innocent...thing is though we have to get information on day one, and votes = reactions = information...having said that, as the day goes on, there is nothing wrong with voting no one at the end of it (I know everyone says 'that only helps the mafia' but think about it; how does it help the town if you don't have a least a probably suspect in your mind to vote for, and you end up lynching a fellow innocent.)
It is
very likely that a lynching on day one will be an innocent. If it's me, all I ask is that you all learn from the experience
Classic mafia play : day one, rely on the statistics, hide your votes around the place as long as the town have picked an innocent, day two blame one or two of the innocents for the lynching and try and get them killed. Its then only on day three that the mafia have to actually try, if that all works out for them and they would hope to be 4 townies down by then.
I tend to find that mafia, especially new mafia players, cannot resist a lynchwagon early on day one though.
Now, having said all that, my mafia meter is perked by 4 people since my first post, and we'll all continue on learning as we go during the course of the day.
We might end up with a great suspect for a lynching yet.
