stupid chain stores

Man i hate big name stores today i sent my wife who knows next to nothing about fish to petcrap to pick me up some danios and she comes home with african glass (debauwi) catfish! I mean what kind of idiots do they hire? lol,the good thing about it is they are beautiful fish and they only cost 80 cents each lol.

I just started working at a local pet store chain in the aquaria section, and while I possess knowledge of some fish, it's been a few years since I've managed my own freshwater tank. Never before have I dealt with saltwater tanks either. Hence why I'm on here learning what I can from others that know a lot more on this topic. Hopefully over time I can prove to be a better resource to my customers.

And Grins is right...the job doesn't pay much (try $8/hr.). But I'm a relatively broke college student that loves animals, so it suits me.

Well atleast some people care to learn but i mean im not trying to offend anyone who works at a chain store or any lfs but what im trying to say is they should atleast be taught or learn how to tell the difference between danios and cats,not only look at what the label says on the tank the fish are in.
 
I think some responsibility lies with the buyer.....
 
Why is the clerk not to blame? He obviously doesn't know what a Danio is and if that's the case he should have asked someone in the store with more experience. Imagine that you have to drive another 100km to correct one of their dumb mistakes…

Not in this case. Of course if you explicitly ask for a salt water fish and wonder why he didn't survive in your fresh water tank, yeah...ok.
