Glowlight Tetras (Hemigrammus erythrozonus)

I got my first group of fish today to start stocking my 29g community. :headbang2:
I went to the LFS and got a group 5 Glowlight Tetras. I intend of getting about three or four in the future, as I'm slowly stocking the rest of the tank.

I know I definately want to have another school of fish, and a few larger fish. But, I haven't decided on which ones. I won't be getting more fish for another few weeks, so I will keep you updated.

So far I'm really liking these little guys. That little streak of orange is suprisingly bright and noticable. Really happy with them.

I've always thought of setting up a neon tetra/black neon tetra/ glo light tetra tank. Blue, orange, black stripes. Sounds nice don't it?

since your just starting.... look cheap and after a good amount of time you can buy nicer stuff.. look at zebra danios. they have many other color variations also so you can "mix and match" persay.

i've always liked glowlight tetras. IME, they school unbelievably tight and are a very attractive fish. good luck with them!

Picking up a half dozen or so this weekend, along with some rummynose to fill out my rummy school a bit.

You can add rasbora they are a good schooling fish.

Glowlights do better in larger schools. IMO, 6+ is minimum. In a 29gal, I would shoot for only 2 schools of fish, and 1 medium fish.
