I don't think I'd use filter media or squeezings from a lfs, even "good" 1s can get in sick fish & many have central or shared filtration systems.

By bacteria from a bottle from tetra company and add tiny bit of fish food every day to feed it, plants will help too and your filter will establish fully in 2-3 weeks.
