Has anyone kept these? I see a lot of big tanks with large groups suggested. I know they shoal in very large groups across the lake but could a smaller breeding group be kept? No larger than a 55g tank? Probably does not work but could I keep these with shelldwellers? I want a tank of brichardi but I came across the blue neons online and found them interesting. I'm kind of limited on space and floor weight since I don't have a basement setup so anything I can combine is good but I don't like tanks of just random species. I'd rather have a species tanks with breeding groups and more natural interaction instead of random chaos like I see in a lot of cichlid tanks.
