Betta can see himself ..... and he's not impressed.

Today I put a black background on my 5 gallon tank. I love the way it looks, but Bob the Betta is not impressed. He can apparently see himself in the glare and is ready to throw down.

He's been in the corner flaring and writhing around ..... at himself.

Is this going to stress him out if he constantly thinks another fish is there?

Most likely he will get used to it after awhile.

I never get used to seeing my reflection.

It's more of a horrifying thing though.

Maybe some floating plants? NOT duckweed!! Maybe red root floater or salvinia.

But, yeah, like Bob said he'll probably get used to it. Unlike poor Joel, lol.

He seems to have settled, but still has his moments where he's ready to battle. LOL

I used to pretend it was good exercise for bettas to stretch their fins a bit when they did that, lol. No big deal i think.
