I haven’t posted here in awhile and did make a post anoyt my 2.5g tank, which I cant seem to find. I recently got myself a rose petal male betta. Only had him for a few days. He’s just been flaring at everything. I don’t have a background on the tank, so no idea why he’s just going to town flaring. Mostly at me, lamp, or in a random direction. He’s active and eating well, which is good. Just crazy. :D

A new tank...sounds typical to me. Even without a background, the lighting could be such that from his point of view he "sees" something.

A pretty boy! Sounds normal to me too. He's just feeling out his territory & any threats he needs to put down by a show of flaring his masculine superiority. He'll be fine in a short while.

you can do some short, mirror sessions; gives them something to ponder over. my betta never cared for it, but guppies seemed to be obsessed with it. its like they know its not another fish, but they cant understand its their reflection.
