Depends on genetics, food, and care as to how it will develop. Because they are such a mix to begin with, how flowerhorns turn out is a roll of the dice. Some are really nice and a lot more are just so so. Some are just accidents and had no thought put into their creation and there is much less selection for the aesthetic with these.

Well that certainly makes sense. I have zero experience / knowledge of Flowerhorns. Looks like I will be hitting the web doing my research this weekend !
I currently have it in a 90 gallon tank with 2 Red finned Botia, 3 juvenile firemouths, 2 juvenile Dempseys, an oddball Jewel and a small pleco. I will move and redistribute them as they age and aggressions become evident.
