    need help stocking new tank

If you are getting a 55g in July then wait until then to purchase any other fish and stick with the Neons and Guppies for now.... This will give you time to think over what fish you might like for the 55g and to do alot of reading on the forum to see what would be the best setup for it when...

    BOWFRONT vs. FLAT

It is mostly personal preference....but a few cons I can think of are: Bow fronts give kind of a distorted view because of the curved glass...compared to looking straight in like a flat front tank. The bow fronts can be harder to find different kinds of lighting and/or hoods to fit them if...

Slight imperfection in new pine cabinet

I wouldnt worry at all about where the knot was...not enough gap to cause any issues. Also keeping a 30g on the second floor should be fine

    Heater question

I would use a 200w on it but the 150w will probably do for now... You really need to use some sort of thermometer too so you know what the actual temp is as the dials on the heaters can be a few degrees off either way of what you have them set at....like mentioned above alot depends on how much...

    10gallon lightig confusion

The sticker in my hood says "Use lamps rated at 25w max" ....So I am assuming I could use two 25w bulbs if I could find any CFL type that would even come close to fitting.... All of the long U-shaped ones I have seen are in the wrong light spectrum for growing plants is why I went with the 10w...

    Anyone tried this?

Should work fine...anything you can add to help a cycle move along faster is always a good thing. I have gravel from my 55g hanging inside of a 10g and 29g I am setting up now in the toe part of some pantyhose :)

    10gallon lightig confusion

Any generic 10g hood that has screw in type bulbs will work ... You can pick one up at Walmart or should be able to order from most any big name online pet store. I am setting up a 10g planted tank now (just waiting on my plants to be mailed to me) . I just bought a cheap tank from Walmart...

    Crazy Petsmart prices!

The way I do it is if I am buying more than 1 thing is I add it to the shopping cart on the site and then print that page off...that way I have a list of everything I went after and they can go down the list and mark them off as they pricematch them ;)

    rena xp3 vs. ehiem

The XP3 is rated at upto 175 gallon tanks (not 75 as stated above)....so you should have plenty of filtration for your 75 g tank ;) Just looked and the smaller XP2 is the one rated for a 75g
