excellent vid! anyone who's followed from the onset knows that every word uttered was 100% on point. i can't wait to see how things go when small reptile, amphibian and fish keepers realize they're next.if the everglades are going to be the basis of federal law making on invasive species, here's...

    Substrate Algae Problem

if it is lack of N causing cyano, this is one time i'd suggest EM as a first resort instead of a last resort. clear that up and start from scratch and see where that gets you. i'd hate to start a tank that already has problems only to find out more are coming and i've just limited how i can...

what do you do when your sick and need to do water changes?

i'd have to check, but i think the aqueon w/c system uses the standard 3/4" hose threads. if so, then absolutely.

    hmm, interesting

we never said you weren't going to do them, either. we just know how it is when you get in a slump and don't want to do something because it's more difficult than it's worth. ;)

what do you do when your sick and need to do water changes?

if it'll reach, yeah. you'll need the 1/2" f.i.p to 3/4" male hose thread adapter for it. then to take the shower head on and off easily without stripping it and/or making it leak, you'll need another adapter with 3/4" female hose thread to 1/2" MIP. FIP = femaile iron pipe MIP = male iron pipe...

what do you do when your sick and need to do water changes?

that's the way to do it, but i don't quite fit under that particular sink anymore if anything happens while the hose is connected. on the bathroom sinks, i'd have to change a spigot anyway, so i figure why not put that extra spigot where we need it.

what do you do when your sick and need to do water changes?

well, this is how i drain... look... no hands! still no hands. filling up the bucket i'll use for rinsing and cleaning... when i'm done, this gets kicked over. it never gets carried anywhere full of water. ;) if it's not freezing out, i'll use the hose spigot... right now...

    hmm, interesting

+1 nerdy... why fight it, man? get a length of vinyl hose with the same I.D. as your gravel vacs hose, but long enough to make it outside or to a drain/toilet/etc.. then refill with the hose and add your dechlor. you can make something like this for easy w/c's as well... it will...
