Bullied Oscar then jumping Oscar, help!

With regards to the eye, if it doesn't improve I would assume it's never going to, but fish can live with 1 eye. In regards to recovery, it depends on the fish and the care given. Some fish never recover, others make miracle come backs from stuff like this. I'd suggest getting a lid or some...

29 gallon community tank stocking ideas?

Well, for a 30tall (29gal) you can do a few basic setups. I would suggest some kind of tetra (I like serpea tetras myself) to be a midlevel swimmer in the tank, a gouramis for the upper level, and some cories for the bottom of the tank. You could also do a bristlenose or bulldog pleco in the...

    starting over

Boiling will do it for most of the ornaments, but be careful of air pockets inside them which could cause them to shatter. The sand can be boiled as well probably (never tried it myself). How long has your stuff been sitting out?

    56 gallon slight update.

As the owner of a 75gal I can tell you it is VERY possible to make one look like a pond with good placing of driftwood, plants, and a background. Also that 75's a bigger than they appear. Also, fish WILL disappear in a 75gal and you will think they died and then like 2 years later BOOM it's...

    Fishfriend's 75gal - The Rescape w/ Pics

Thanks all! @Kannan - Oh I know, preaching to the choir here! I have a pleco that's easily the size of my hand, but I only see it every so often despite the tank having basically no places for a fish that size to completely vanish in (I'd be able to see his tail, or should). But nope, vanishes...

How do I keep floating plants from going all over the place?

As said above, canisters are a blessing for floating plants. I also suggest the use of some well placed airline tubing.

    75g Oddball Plan

This is a bit delayed, but I love the tank with live plants more than without :D

    Fishfriend's 75gal - The Rescape w/ Pics

I rescaped my 75gal a few days ago because the old scape seemed rather cluttered, plus most of the plants needed to be moved in order to respond to the unexpectedly massive growth of my two main 'background' plants. I also wanted to check and make sure all of my fish were still, ah, kicking...

    5 gallon tank stocking options

I've never kept peacock gudgeons, but I have kept betta (and I agree, 5.5 is a bit small unless planted & whatnot) and sparkling gouramis. I'd suggest a Sparkling Gouramis and some smaller shrimps like cherrys or ghosts.

    Re-starting my 55g

I'd be worried about the angelfish eating cardinal tetras, try for a larger tetra or a more diamond shaped body rather than line shaped.

    guppies and angelfish?!

The angelfish will *probably* be able to eat the guppies when the angels mature. What species of gouramis? Also, what size tank? Bigger tanks will give the guppies more room to hide/run.

    what fish is this??

I googled female congo tetra, that definitely looks like one of them.

    Growing Pleco...

Ok, so, borrowed a smaller light and used it to get a good look, the pleco is basically black, gray, and brown with no distinct patterns or spots... it has fins that are stubby in the extreme as well. I did notice, as best I could without it flaring, that its tailfin had what looked to be either...

    Slacking on my tanks

Byron, just want to say, no one ever said less was better. We only noted that you can get away with less if you do more in other areas of your tank care. Also, I want to know your secret to 30min waterchanges, because I have to set up multiple eleborate contraptions to get from my tank to my...

    what fish is this??

I'm stuck between it being a species of Rainbowfish or a species of Tetra, due to body shape and fin placement. I'm going to say either a Celebs Rainbowfish or a Gold Tetra.
