    Preassurized CO2 Dump

Oldman said it best. Tank pressure will stay at ~960psig until you run out of liquid co2. At this point, the upstream pressure(the pressure of the tank) is flucuating so quickly(as it decreases) that a single stage regulator can't reliably control the discharge of gas. As mentioned, a high...

    favorite plant substrate

Yeah man, Aqua Soil hands down, but it certainly is expensive. I also use Flourite and SMS, and I'm happy with both, but definitely aqua soil for the win. I felt like nobody was staing the obvious.

    UV sterilization Help

That's where having an internal UV, or external on a separate pump, is really handy----they're great for quarantine tanks.

    UV sterilization Help

You can install the sterilizer on either side of the filter, whatever is easiest for you. UV won't really help with BBA, BGA, or GSA. I think I read once that Tom suggested GSA may have a free floating component, but I've never seen any documentation of this. If it does, it'll help. If...

    ALGAE!!??!?!

Well, new, you can get a Milwaukee regulator setup from water-testers.com for $85/shipped. Here in the Bay Area you purchase a refurbished 5# cylinder filled for $65. And then boom, you've got a system. The filled cylinder is the +/- for you. You have to hunt around in your area. Almost...

    Combining tanks

Just my opinion, but why? If you like the tube idea, go for it. But for less than the cost, you could simply buy a bigger tank. It'll be fairly expensive to have a professional do this.

    ALGAE!!??!?!

:shark: There's your trouble. You have a very nice amount of light, not too much, not too little, so as long as you maintain good co2 levels you really shouldn't have a lot of problems. DIY CO2 with a 55g can be done, but it's a PITA. It's no problem as long as you stay on top of the co2...

How can I make my tank live again?

Well, notice I said 90%, not 100, because it threw me. People interchange CF, so it's hard to tell. I just assumed the 110w was 2x55w.

How can I make my tank live again?

I'm 90% sure we're talking about CF as in power compact T5, not CFL as in the spiral bulb.

How can I make my tank live again?

Well, T5 is quickly becoming the standard. I have PC lighting over my 45g and 46g tanks, but I recently acquired a 75g with T5 lighting, and so far I definitely prefer the T5. For a high light tank, yes, you'll need another fixture. But for a low light setup, you're fine as is. Either way, I...

How can I make my tank live again?

I agree with everything you said, but wanted to make two modifications: 1)75w is right in the perfect range to abide by the wpg "rule" 2)Plants will grow outside of that kelvin range, the 6700k-10,000k recommendations is just because that's the most popular for viewing, not growth

How can I make my tank live again?

Ok, so, this is what you have: 75g tank 110w light CO2 system(in storage) Well, for starters 110w of light over a 75g is nice low light. You can stick to that route, tossing in some Seachem Flourish once a week for traces, and grow many low light plants light anubias, crypts, java fern, java...

Help Please - Why are all my plants just dieing ????

216 watts over 55g is high light. In order for plants to grow at that level, you'll need a good source of carbon. You can use Seachem Excel, but I recommend looking into CO2. You could use DIY CO2, but pressurized is your best bet.

looking for DIY reflectors for spiral CFLs

If cheap is what's important, spend $3 on white paint. If you don't care about the money, and just want some great, easy to work with reflectors, order from ahsupply. You can buy just the reflectors, they aren't very expensive(more than $3, but still not too bad). The thing about reflectors...
