Yep, if you forgot the declore than it killed the bacteria and you'll need to start over. A 25% change with normal water would possibly have been ok, but not at 75%.

Thanks for confirming the ID everyone! These poor fish were in fairly bad condition when I picked them up (having only ever been fed flake -food) but I hope to get them eating their veggies soon enough - they inhale flakes and algae wafers like no one's business.

I agree with Xan, Pothos is an excellent plant. They do tend to use a lot of water though, as he said. I also *think* that they suck up nitrates.

It would probably work, but to be safe I'd find a spare intake cap and see if you can put it on the output. If you can't then the flow is more than it looks and you should avoid putting it onto the 10gal. If you can, keep it on the output to help prevent it from blowing sand around and baring...

How the plants doing now? Try and stick through with 'em, I had an issue where one of my hygro's completely melted but I stuck through it and the bugger's like a foot tall now.

If it's a land-worm I'd be worried about it dying and causing an ammonia spike. Aquatic worms are usually not that bad. Pics would be nice though.

You can ignore the water temp for most fish (I know I do lol) but for size you may want to just look into that to see if the webpage is completely correct. As for jumpers, I hope you have a lid... :P

That "black spot" is actually the eggs as they develop inside their mother. Even when not preggo they can be seen as a small black patch, but said patch grows as the eggs develop.
