    Advice on stocking scheme

Do NOT get more mollies. That will, as a rule, leave you with a hundred fry more than you can deal with. I'm still dealing with my old molly problem almost 6 years later.

You could squeeze 15 into that tank, but overfilter like it's a goldfish tank lol

    mixing shoals/schools

From experience I've found that two things tend to decide how well fish do together: 1) Size - If they are similarly sized they will tend to school together (as with my Black Neons and my Harlequin Rasbora). 2) Type of Activity - My Molly and my Neon Rainbowfish school together due to being...

I have no idea what they are but I seriously want one haha.

    Advice on stocking scheme

I would recommend an isolation tank to help prevent diseases getting into your main tank. I would also rehome the barb, they are fairly aggressive fin-nippers and would make a danios life a very difficult thing. The molly should be fine.

    Combining Tanks?

Ok, for the sake of the Gouramis and my MTS I set up a tiny, heavily planted and well filtered 5gal tank and moved the rest of the fish into the 75. Turns out that if you put two similarly sized schooling fish of different species together they have a powow. The neons and the rasboras basically...

    Combining Tanks?

So, I have a 20gal with the follow stock:1X Sparkling Gouramis 5X Black Neon Tetra 2X Otto 2X Cory Cat and an unknown amount of ghost shrimp and snails Which I want to/plan to merge into my 75gal tank with the following stock: 9X Harlequin Rasbora 6X Neon Rainbowfish 5X Serpea Tetra 5X Cory...

How to match temps when doing large water changes?

I mean both. I do drain the tanks down, but I also let some water evaporate on its own (around 1in a week actually). I then drain another 2in or so, leave it overnight, then drain to the 50% and refill. It's worked so far :P

I think that the Ruby Barbs would do nicely in that tank, but I don't know what male/female ratio to put them in haha. I still favor tetras, but I'm probably very biased in their favor...

    'New' 5 gallon tank.

So cute :P Like the above said, I'd try out a few plants (Anubias Nana is a favorite of mine for small tanks, Java Fern as well). You can get away with like 2-3 tiny fish when you do that. Stock wise... well, a Betta would limit your fish down to 1 fish, but in a tank that size 1 is all that...

    Fishfriend1's 75 Gallon Community Tank

I know to paint the outside lol. But in order to get behind the tank I would need to move it (about 2in clearance behind the tank right now) which I don't have time to do right now. I'll *probably* do it during the summer months when I don't have so much college work to deal with. That said, I...

    Fishfriend1's 75 Gallon Community Tank

That killi has been 'ready to pop' for ages, she's just really fat because she always grabs the food first haha. May well be a balloon killi. I want to I want to... but there is no way I'll be able to do that without breaking down and draining the tank haha. I hope to get a black background...

Should I add another ram to my 40b?

Well, personally I wouldn't (I've learned to understock) but if you maybe move some decor a bit to mess with their territories they *should* be fine. Still, a risk I think, to alter a balanced tank with that many rams.

All my Serpae Tetras are sick. What to do

I have to second cicrush13 here, looks like some kind of fungus. It is that large white thing that is in the center of the 2nd pic right?

Controlling water stability with pure water?

I never really worried about Ph and whatnot, I just make sure to (with the rare new fish) acclimate slowly. So long as I do that and I keep the overall ph at a stable level (which my obscene amount of driftwood, plants, and filtration does) the fish all stay healthy since they don't suffer any...

    Let's Talk About Endlers

You know full well I am referencing Guppies, Mollies, Swordtails, Platys, Mosquito Fish, and Endlers. If I recall most of them can interbreed with each other and produce viable offspring? I know that Muppies exist (Guppy-Molly) and am fairly certain that Swordtail Platys exist commonly too... so...

    Let's Talk About Endlers

Why would being able to interbreed with viable offspring be relevant to species? Can't pretty much all livebearers interbreed with relatively acceptable results?

How to match temps when doing large water changes?

Regarding changes, I sometimes let my tanks go down 1-2, even 3 inches, leave it like that for a few days, and then finish the waterchange with cooler water. I'm probably overthinking it since they're fish, but I imagine it would be similar to being a period of drought and then a large...

    37g issues and stock

I still think you're a little bottom heavy on your stock (Rams, Kuhlis, Bumblebee Cats) but in a well planted 30in tank there should be enough space for them to all mind their own business. I'd add the rams last so they don't think the others are invading their territory. I also think you're a...
