    Review of fishneedit lights

Great Review!!! :headbang2::headbang2::headbang2: It's concise, but does a great job of pointing out pros and cons. To me, sounds like build and design of the light are good, but maybe QC is a little lacking. Given where this light is made, that's not much of a surprise. For $80/shipped...

    Jeffrey's "Little Man" -ADA 60-P

"Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on, brah!... Lala how the life goes on..." Well, aside from the devastating news above, I've been a little busy for updates for a while, but I find myself with a little time. Took about 5 weeks to cycle, even with a lot of plants and a seeded filter. As I...

    Jeffrey's "Little Man" -ADA 60-P

The weird part is that the Otocinclus affinis I have in there haven't had any problems, and usually (at least in my experience) those are very sensitive fish.

    Jeffrey's "Little Man" -ADA 60-P

My own little personal tragedy. The fish I thought were Parotocinclus eppelyi....turned out to be Parotocinclus letcia (aka sp 'peru') and an MORE rare fish. And I've lost them all. For more pics: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2239985#post2239985

Absolute Tragedy: Lost all four of my Parotocinclus sp 'Peru'

This fish were amazing. Truly gorgeous. Tiny tiny tiny. So wonderful. Survived for months nearly unattended in a low tech tank I had downstairs. Then, I move them upstairs to my high tech 60-P. I spent 18 hours acclimating them. I'd even put an otocinclus affinis in there first, because for me...

Ebay seller about to lose money on this ? 300G tank NEW

Something's fishy..... The dude's other sales are all weird, like he's some kind of scavenger ebay/reseller. Secondly, the pictures of the tank are still in a warehouse, most likely the manufacturers warehouse. I'm sure it's completely legit, it's just that something is weird about it. The...

    Any women with E-commerce businesses?

For a business class I'm writing a paper about the increase in women as entrepreneurs, especially in the small business category, over the past 10 years. I'm interviewing a couple of women locally, but I'd really like to find a woman or two that operate e-commerce businesses. The businesses can...

    SeaChem's ParaGuard. Useful or Unuseful?

The question is a little confusing, however, Paraguard is a medicine, so in that respect it is certainly useful. I don't think I'd just starting treating every fish that comes in with Paraguard, but certainly it'd be a great multi-medicine for quarantine tanks. Some people probably treat all new...

If you had to pick one brand of filter, which would it be?

I'm an eheim man through and through. For the past few years, I've been on the Pro II series, but lately I've started to go back to the Classics. For the money, the classic is pretty friggin' awesome.

    Getting rid of duckeed

:grinyes::grinyes::grinyes: But, I've been successful just using a net and a lot of patience. Scoop out every little bit one day, might take an hour, who knows. However, inevitable you'll miss some, so go back a day or two later and scoop out any you missed, and keep this up. In like a week...

question about using cfls for med-high light plants

You should calculate based on the actual wattage, not the equivalent. CFLs work great for plants, but they have a considerable amount of restirke. A good estimate is to say that 86% of the wattage is making it out of the fixture.

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

Rolling on the paint makes it look nicer from the back of the tank. I've used a brush and a roller...from the front of the tank they both looked the same, but the roller was easier.

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

As far as brand, I couldn't tell you. Whatever the Lowe's brand is. But, I use Latex Flat Black paint and I painted lik 4 coats plus touch up. Latex is nice because it's so easy to remove if/when you want to change or do away with a background.

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

I got all the parts in for my controller and I got it all soldered together: I have four independently controller sockets in the Technical-Pro power supply, with 2 spares for non controlled power. I have 2 24 VAC controlled ports on the controller for my water change solenoids when I pipe...

    Jeffrey's "Little Man" -ADA 60-P

I know it and I still didn't follow it: "Never adjust co2 unless you'll be around to see what happens" I adjusted my co2, trying to get it to a good level for livestock, and wouldn't you know it, I turned it too far down....and then went out of town for 5 days. Man, ALGAE CITY!!! It's the...

    substrate problem?

You can add the baking soda or you can just do your next water change with all/more treated water.

    What says I need CO2?

This gets into what is called a "Naturally Planted Tank", where soil is used as the substrate and they are still generally low light tanks. Most NPT's do not even use added lighting, they are simply placed in a window for sunlight. NPTs are require a bit more than just adding soil, so if you...
