Well I just got back with a 55 gallon tank off freecycle. It was heavily planted and very healthy. The plants are all the same type - some sort of fernish plant and all very well established trained onto rocks and driftwood.
It also included a Aquaclear 500? HOB. Very large almost a foot long...
Thanks reptileguy2727. I actually did not know what species they were. Someone gave me the tank with the goldfish about 2 months ago on condition that I continue to take care of the goldfish. She said she got them a couple years prior. I have too many tanks and am looking to consolidate so that...
Yiikes! Well the Goldfish are already in the 46g bow. They are happy as can be. They follow you anywhere you go in the room always wanting a handout. I cana't see getting an even larger tank for them. I do weekly 25% water changes. There isn't a lot of "fluff" in the tank, two simple ornaments...
I use the plastic bio-balls. I think they were on sale for like $15 for a big box of them, I didn't even need half. If you get the polishing pads (the white ones) they will clog up in a day and shoot a ton of micro-bubbles out. In fact, you'll know when it is time to clean the filter when you...
I might do this - PM me your info. How many can you give a "good" home to? 30? These are just about full-grown now. BTW: I have all the shipping supplies for sending the fish. If anything, I'd just ask you to cover shipping.
They would all be in a 46g Bowfront if I do it, which I probably won't. I want to get rid of the 27g Hex that the Angels are in and give them more room to play. The other tank they could go in is a 120g community tank but it already has 4 Angels (2 striped, 2 gold) (same size as the other two)...
+1 The bigger the better for that crew! If you do get a bigger tank, consider having it drilled for a sump and use one of the old tanks as a sump. 40Bs work great for sumps if you have one.
I have decided to simplify my fish tanks. I am tearing down my 29g reef tank and will transfer the inhabitants to my 40g reef tank. I think I will give the 29g setup to my BIL as he is looking for a larger tank. I hate to waste the live rock but I just don't have the room in my 40g tank so it...
The 120g has 4 angels already. 3 males and 1 female. They all grew up together so they get along "ok". I am not sure what they would do with the other two. These two in the 27g hex lay eggs every 2-3 weeks like clockwork. Sometimes they hatch, sometimes they eat the eggs, but so far none have...
They are just a bit larger then mine that are maybe 1 1/2 years old. Say 6" or so. They are large enough that they have that elongated part between their tail and main body. I'd peg them at maybe 2-3 years old.
I have a 46g bowfront with 7 goldfish around 4-5" each. They follow everyone around when they come up to the tank and will eat out of your hand. Very hardy as well.
My local fish store has what they call "Giant Clown Loaches" which are in fact, just fully grown Clown Loaches. The funny part is they have them listed for $125 each! They are a general ripoff on just about everything they sell, but this is particularly bad.
I think they are making up for the...
Here are my 7 tanks.
This is the new 40B saltwater tank. Just set up and not ready for anything.
27g beta tank with peppered cories
120g community tank
27g Angel tank with peppered cories
new 46g bow from freecycle with goldfish
10g peppered cory growout tank
29g...
I think I may be headed towards danger zone with too many tanks! I started with a 120g that came with my house. Then our mollies had babies so my BIL gave us his old 10g setup to use as a baby tank. Then I got a 29g tank on freecyle and set that up as an angel tank. Then my daughter wanted a...
