Or you could wait until you return from the 3 weeks to get new fish. Maybe use that 3 weeks to cycle the new tank. You could get a Blue German ram and some serpae tetras. They look nice together in my opinion.

Yeah, it's a giant 6-stage for the kitchen sink. Upon reflection I should have gone for a simpler one, but oh well.

The main problem is I don't have tools and don't really want to invest in them for a one-time use. Thanks for the info :) If I can find tools I'll give it a try.
