    Possible sick Oranda

Hi guys, I am not sure what this is and would really appreciate your input. I have 3 goldies in a 30 gallon. I know I need to get a larger aquarium and when I can get one I will. I do 30 to 50% water changes every week. They are an oranda a black moor and a pearlscale. The oranda has 2 white...

In 2010 I spent 5-6 days doing waterchanges? (calling all python users)

I learnt how easy it can be myself in september and posted a thread on it also. I also carried bucket after bucket, spill here and there!! I use the aquavac same as the python and it is amazing! Water changes are easy and I don't feel like "uggg I have to do a water chage" It takes no time at...

    angelfish tank mates?

I have a large angel who is the boss in my 80G He will eat whatever fits in his mouth, but I have many schools of tetras in with him and they are safe in schools with lots of plants for them to hide in. Also as long as your angels are fed enough they should have no interest in sushi :)

Oranda, pearlscale and black moor. Best of friends and already survived the errors of their owner ;) I am more in tune with planted tropical tanks and these darn goldies have been a challenge! Diatoms, bad cycle... fake plants (introducing real plants now, trying) ammonia burn because I over...

    New Goldy Tank

Still babies I should post some new pics :)

How do you acclimate or not? Why?

I put the bags in tank for 20-30 minutes for temperature. Then I put in a 1 gallon bucket and add tank water up to 3/4 full over about 15-20 minutes. Then it's scoop and drop. I honestly can't get most small tetras out of a bag without loosing patience big time so the bucket and 2 nets is so...

What are some of the larger tetra species?

I have oodles of different tetras and they all inter-mingle nicely. neons, cardinals, black neons, glowlights, glass bloodfin all hang out together. The larger tetras like red eyes and bleeding hearts keep to their own kind mostly but also only fight with their own kind.

What are some of the larger tetra species?

bleeding hearts are beautiful. They will be more aggressive with each other in small numbers so 5 or more is recommended.
