At the tenth day be very active on observing their behavior. By the tenth day for me, my fish started getting stressed as I mentioned in a previous post. Luckily by then, the parasite was dead so I gradually changed back to fresh water while keeping the air pump in as the temperature gradually...
You're welcome :D I was worried no one took this thread seriously but having one person is good enough for me ^^
Would just like to add that all my fish made it, my plants made it (only some browning), my mystery snails made it, and that is about it. Treatment is over and my tank is 100% fresh...
Ghost shrimp to a store can mean various things. I think I've heard of some ghost shrimp being crawdads or something like that. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
According to this graph http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/lighting/105774-par-vs-distance-t5-t12-pc.html the lighting level is medium. But it should be enough since you are not dosing CO2 or anything.
So I haven't updated this thread in a while. I essentially did water changes every 2 days, kept the tank aerated, and left the lights off. The reason I left the lights off was because the plants were getting brown so I decided it would be better with the lights off. I am happy to announce that...
So it is day 2 of the treatment. I am forced to extend the duration of the salt bath as my heater is unable to heat the tank to 88 degrees. The tank is currently 82 degrees and stable. I dosed today approx. 58 teaspoons of salt, for what I assume is 0.2% salt concentration. I am unable to do a...
So I'm reading on what I should do for day 2 on treating ich. I'm hoping you guys can help here. These are the steps given in the FAQ:
For basic procedures, here are the steps.
1. Dose one teaspoon per gallon of salt or equivalent to 0.1%.
2. After 12 hours and assuming the fish has tolerated...
Well I went out to buy salt. It contains calcium silicate, which I hope is fine. It was that or iodized salt so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. The nice part is that salt was on sale so I bought 6 pounds for $2. I will consider today day 1 of treatment and will do a water change on day 2. Tank is currently 80...
No, my wisteria are under 108w T5HO in a 55g. They have the same leaves in the picture but just a crap ton more stems. Its thick. I like his because its more well kept and there is one main stalk and it stayed like that. I have a bunch of shoots going in different directions besides the main...
How are your wisteria's so far apart and not bushy? I want that effect!!! Mine get very thick and bushy while getting close to other stems and making this thick mesh of wisteria :( Am I suppose to let the first wisteria plant I get grow and then cut it in half and replant it to get an...
Yeah, if the tank dried up and the water evaporated its same to assume you lost your beneficial bacteria. Unless you kept some of your filters or decors in water? You can seed the tank again.
These guys are carnivorous btw and eat other snails. This is why they are interesting, because you can watch them hunt down other snails. If there are no snails to eat then they'll scavenge for any left over food.
