Please critique my scape with brutal honesty

I feed sparingly. Typically everything gets eaten and any leftovers should get taken care of through my water changes. You know, I was kinda thinking that too, but if I lower the rocks the planting will change significantly as it takes away from the height of the tank. Too much empty space...

Please critique my scape with brutal honesty

So, I've been pretty stagnant lately with my setups, a few months ago I mostly tore down my 29g with the intent of rescaping it. I got some rocks in there and let it sit for a few months (got busy with other hobbies/work). A few days ago I got to fiddling with it a bit and this is what I have at...

    Moving tanks. Potential disaster.

I didn't even pack everything great this time. I've moved tanks several times. Sometimes over a state away, sometimes in the same town. This was a relatively short move with not too many fish so everything just kinda got tossed in buckets with no air pumps or anything. I got lucky that nothing...

    Moving tanks. Potential disaster.

Well I think the disaster was mostly avoided. For fish there is one cory that I just can't seem to find. And apart from some blyxa, a few crypts, and a couple tiny buces drying out the majority of the plants are just fine. Sent from my iPhone using MonsterAquariaNetwork app

    Moving tanks. Potential disaster.

Ok kinda a vent. I was in the process of moving two of my tanks to my girlfriend's apartment today. I got the tanks, fish, stand, co2, plants, everything loaded into the car in about 7 or 8 trips. Then after all those trips on the very last trip my car, which is on, a.c. running, decides to lock...

Do I need to do a water change?

Floating plants are nitrate sponges. You may want to consider adding some. Sent from my VS980 4G using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

1 week shy of a year!

Haha please post pics I haven't opened one of my canisters in about 9 or 10 months and to be honest I'm a little nervous to open it up. Planning on a cleaning soon. Sent from my iPhone using MonsterAquariaNetwork app

What is this thing growing from my Cryptocoryne spirals?

From the pic, no idea. Any chance of a clearer shot? What are you referring to in the pic. Could it be a runner forming a new crypt? Maybe a deformed leaf? Just guesses.

    Lost then found fish?

I would say a few should be ok in a 29g depending on other stock. If you want to stock them in your bigger tank though it certainly wouldn't hurt. I had a similar experience yesterday. I neglected a 20L for a few months and went to clean it up and do a nice water change yesterday. Found a...

I'm not too familar with the Python hose system

Probably need to buy the whole thing. Depending on what your missing though you may be able to find something at a hardware store or something not made specifically for a python online. Sent from my VS980 4G using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

What kind of filter should i get?

I agree 100%, I personally use sun suns because canisters can be a little pricey and the sun suns work great and in my experience and from what I've read hold up just as well as bigger names. The filter does feel a bit cheaper but as long as you are a little careful and not rough when taking it...

    hey guys, can you help?

One big thing when starting a planted tank. It's not going to look fully filled with plants when you first plant it. Especially if you use stem plants. They will grow in over time though. Be patient. Look for a local LFS that sells plants or post a wtb ad on a forum for the plants you want they...

What is wrong with one of my cardinal Tetras?

If the cardinal died in the main tank keep a close eye on the others. From my understanding, NTD and false NTD can spread to other fish when the host dies in the same tank.

    Small Low Light Tank?

And may appear even taller in a smaller setup like this. It can be done though with the right scape.

    Small Low Light Tank?

There are a lot of tanks between 5-10g. You can find some all in one setups that have filters and lights built in or you can put together your own setup. Mr. Aqua makes some nice rimless tanks as does ADA if you went to spend some extra money. Also you've got some great recommendations from...

    20 gallon Stocking

I'm also going to go against the grain and agree with what Kyle said. I personally kept one in a 29g for about 8 months. It died recently, I'm not 100% sure why but I think it was because of a slight co2 dump I had. Now I was warned when I got it that they are aggressive and may go after smaller...

    new here

Most fish will pick off some RCS, or at least the babies if not adults. It probably isn't a sustainable option. Bottom dwelling fish are probably a better option. If you want to diversify with some inverts there are some snails that you could look into.

    Help picking fish

Nope not crazy, I was like that for a while. Eventually I started ruling out some fish I didn't like as much and settling with fish I enjoyed more. I think my obsession with planting my tanks helped some too. Once I stock with something I enjoy I focus on plants and scaping more than what fish I...

Java moss brown stuff please help?!

Java moss brown stuff please help?!

For the plants, or for your cycle? You can add some ferts for the plants if your worried. It won't hurt. Like I said they are separate from the carbon source and won't harm your moss. It shouldn't be an issue though. They should survive just fine while your tank cycles. Sent from my iPhone...
