I Need German Blue Ram Help

In speaking with a guy who has bred rams for lfs for 10+ years, he says to keep them at temps between 82-86. He says they do better with these temps and at lower temps they slowly waste away. Sent from my VS985 4G using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

Retrofit T5 fixture with LED light strip?

I don't think the conversion bulbs like the one in your link are designed for t5ho fixtures. I don't think they'd do the job you want anyway. I really like the finnex ray2 led for my 40b planted tank. Sent from my VS985 4G using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

    i need help :(

Get glass cut at a hardware store to replace your hood with. Swap out your light for either a twin bulb t5ho fixture or led fixture. The watts per gallon concept does not apply to led. Sent from my VS985 4G using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

Cichlids in a 150 gallon pond?

I have a 30g pond I brought indoors for the weekend. I use it to grow out a few aequidens metae and cryptoheros nanoluteus. I have some livebearers and bushynose in there too. I also use it to grow out plant trimmings. Sent from my VS985 4G using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

Best ways to Aerate my aquarium

I think a powerhead would meet your goal better than an air pump. I recommend the maxijet 600 or 1200 due to price and that they come with the conversion kit which significantly increases flow and water movement. Sent from my VS985 4G using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

Congo tetras hovering near water surface

Is the intake on the canister clear of debris? I had to add a sponge over my intake to stop leaf litter from restriction of flow. Sent from my VS985 4G using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

Kiddie Pool and Stock Tank Ponds

That depends on the type of tetra. Here in MD, my buddy brings his adult buenos aires tetras outside in early march. He brings them back in with many juveniles in late october (sometimes early november). He usually has 20-30 young each year.

    Emersed growing questions

I wonder if running the heat cable during the emersion period would cook the plant roots with so little water?

    co2 questions

Many people with planted tanks will only add enough water to soak the substrate. After planting their plants (usually foreground at this point), the top of the tank will be covered in plastic wrap. Co2 may or may not be added. Lighting is added at this stage. Plants are misted. Again, this is...

    High PH, KH and GH

Setting water out will remove chlorine. This will not impact your ph, gh or kh. RO water removes approximately 90% of all minerals from the water. Start by getting your ph, gh, kh and nitrates (since you are using soil) tested. Petsmart can do this for you until you get a new kit. I...

    co2 questions

Ok... looks like you skipped the misting stage (3+ weeks prior to filling) and went right to filling. No worries, this should still work out. Your components (soil, laterite, eco complete, sat+ led and now compressed co2) make for a nice high tech tank. Though the sat+ is a great light (I have...

    petco $1/gallon sale

The prices can't be beat. If you're building a rack or fishroom, this is a great start. Even if you only want one tank, it is easy to shop for the add ons elsewhere and save $$$.
