Just ordered the aquaclear for 30 gal!

Aviva,I just ordered a aquackear filter for 30 gal! Thats going to up my filtration :) I think your right about the guppy. He is doing fine just needs friends! Will get two this week. Going to feed them in a bit and see how he does! I will def keep you posted :)

His tail to me doesnt seem nipped. I think your right, I think hes lonely... the other fish seem to leave him alone.. I dont really see him going for the food. :/ Ill check when I get home to see how hes doing. One guy on my filter post said I had too many fish in there? I thought everything...

oo7genie, what do you reccommend? an aquaclear? some say ehemi? I guess what I am saying is for the ten gal, i only wanna buy one once. A good strong one. Any reccomendations?

Ok, here is the info you asked, thank you in advance for the help! 1. the water is the same as it has been, ph 7.6-7.8 76 degrees, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrates, 0 nitrites.. been up for about 3 months., first i added plants at very begining. two live plants... 3 weeks after I added 1 white skirt...

Maybe I should get an additional filtration.. I am just using what came with the kit. Water quality had been good.

It is a fancy tail guppy, yellow. The one only fish I bought from petsmart and he's just been staying up at the top of the water. Day one and two he was very active. Now just hanging at the top and his tail has red spots? Tiny tiny that I didn't notice before..., is any of this normal ???

Here is the new plants and added one fancy tail guppy... now day one and two this guppy was swiming all over... now he seems to like to hang around the top in the floating plant... is this normal?

Thank you to everyone for the advise. Abbeysdad, I bet I have been over feeding. Since I added two new fish maybe I have just been putting too much flake food in. I will test tonight and see what it says, maybe skip the feeding tonight. I have a ten gallon tank. hanging filter, three white...

Well I started to see for the first time in almost three months my nitrates go up, and I just did a 25 % change over the weekend. So was wondering if maybe that was it.

How often do you change the filer pad?? And when you are changing it do you stick the new one in with old to " seed " it with bacteria!?

I just looked on some compatiblity sites.. says I could add glofish. So maybe I will do this in a month or so. Going to check out those plants you listed Aviva... I had one plant with a "pine" look that just turned brown and died :(

Aviva90 I had no idea the plant roots eat poop lol I knew they were good for the tank! Bradlg21... I dont want any fighting in my peaceful tank :( what about a yellow take guppie???

One last stocking question... If I get a few more plants... and my water levels stay this good.... Would it be posibble to get another gourami? I kinda want a fire one?? or will I be over stocking at that point?
