it will most likely be kill or be killed scenario, octopus can kill stuff bigger then themselves, and one guy on MFK lost an epaulette shark to an octopus. If you are going to try tankmates make sure it is disposable but best just to keep the octo alone

id personally get a breeding colony of peacock gudgeons and add some shrimp and one small schooling fish like neons, threadfin rainbows, etc in a well planted tank

i got some fluval substrate that is advertized as plant substrate, about an inch deep and it's the black coloured small granules, couldn't find the recommended fertilizer so i'll stick with hardier plants until i can find it. My new dat is loving the plants so hoping they stay alive

so your saying i need a more nutrient rich substrate or supplement for the substrate? I though aquatic plants only used their roots for anchoring and not to absorb nutrients, also i have a 10 000k bulb, would that benefit at all?
