    Anomalochromis thomasi finally coupling!

This is major development in that 55 gal. I am thoroughly thrilled by this turn of events. I got 8 them a little more than a year ago. They were about what 1.5 cm. They have been highly social with each other, 3 more dominant ones laid claim to a spot each, but there was never any major...

    Flow

Let's not speculate about the recreational device I was referring to. The point is about flow. Eheim are good products but flow is not their stronger point. Any decrease is actually significant. But do feel free to send me your enemas anecdotes via pm. I have a few to share.

    Flow

Well, there was some work done in the building. Dirt, cement, plaster dust plus my regular dust got in the air. My central air unit's filter got clogged there was almost no airflow left, so bad it froze and had to be changed (the filter), two Honeywell towers got clogged, dust went everywhere...

Check your tanks after a power blip!

Sometimes it happens, sometimes it don't. When it does happen, it is usually because it has been a while since I cleaned up the impeller. Those filters are pretty forgiving in that matter, until power runs out.

    My little tanks

So those came in today. I added them to the tanks like this, one on each flip cover that had already a smaller strip. Trying to light it all up from the front of the tank I think it works. Here is the effect: I like it. The thomassi cichlid are more colorful, so are the congos. What...

Help! How do I cool the water down in my tank?

Evanleigh, I hope your ac got fixed and that your fish are fine. I hope you did not mess with the water temp because it would have been a cause of stress to the fish in the situation you described. Also, remember to double check your information, especially online. Keep us posted. also, lol

Help! How do I cool the water down in my tank?

Here you go: The first 3 sentences have nothing to do with the situation and as such do not help. The last sentence is simply bad advice. Fish are already stressed from being at a higher temp than normal. Your advice to do a daily 50% wc with temp lower than the regular temperature a few...

Help! How do I cool the water down in my tank?

Thread is called: Help! How do I cool the water down in my tank? Byron and myself were spot on. The mods were not wrong but were giving wrong advice related to the situation, being completely off topic. Just my two cents.

Siamese Algae Eater and Black Beard Algae

Very social fish. Mine usually hang out together and when they grow too big, the store takes them back. Useful fish, community friendly, fun to watch... but I never made them the center piece of a tank. I'll have to try that at some point.

    Celestial pearl danios.

Never paid more than 5 bucks for those fish.

Help! How do I cool the water down in my tank?

What Byron said. Plus, this is pretty much an ich treatment, all should be fine.

Help! How do I cool the water down in my tank?

I would WC with the same water temp as the tank. I think corys should also be fine.

    Celestial pearl danios.

Great fish, great set-up with the CS. If that's all you have, no need for a heather. My experience with that is the fish gets shy if housed with active swimmers. 7$ do seems a little pricey.

Help! How do I cool the water down in my tank?

Don't do anything if this is a short time event and AC gets fixed in a couple of days. The only things you should do are turn off lights and ventilate the surface, and that last thing would mostly to calm you down. WC cooling will only do harm, especially if it is short term and the temp...

    What else to add? Aquascaping

I would stick to Bolivian rams if you want to add rams. They are very social together and they would leave everybody else alone. Plus they have a great group dynamic when in little numbers. And it adds to the chances of getting a couple. Should they breed, they defend very little territory...

    Red Jewel cichlid

Hemichromis lifalili took over a 55 gal. I got a group of 5 juvenile fish in a planted community tank. Not a wise move. No plants survived. Then a couple formed and it was no longer even a species tank, it was a breeding tank; everything else was bullied when not eaten torn in half. And it...

    My little tanks

There were free swimming fry just a few days ago, but here they go again. I share this because it is the first time the eggs are that color, almost red. So Bolivian rams do eat cherry shrimps. Well just a few of them, the numbers are up.

    Coverless tank with Hatchet Tetras

I think the options are cover or no hatchets.

29 gallon community tank stocking ideas?

If I had another tank of that dimension, I would try hatchetfish, ember tetras or microdevario kubotai, a colourful small pleco, lots of attractive moss, a color variation of the cherry shrimp.
