    Do angels need a friend?

As far as territorial...depends on the personality of the fish. The Angel I currently have is not the least bit territorial or aggressive. I have had others that were. It just depends on your fish. :)

    No luck with cory cats!

What are you feeding them? What do they look like before they die? Finally, what type of substrate do you have? Is it possible it is too harsh for their barbels?

    New pets (not wet)

You can potty train birds. I'm not experienced with parakeets, but our Green Cheek Conure will go when you tell him "go poop." He won't poop on you, only where you tell him to go. :)

Rate my tank? Maybe some criticism?

Your cories need friends! You won't see their true amazingness until you have a group of at least five. :)

A happy surprise but a surprise nonetheless!

I disagree that they only eat what moves. I don't feed live worms, only frozen. Mine eats the bloodworms just fine. True, he likes to grab them as they fall to the substrate, but he will also eat them when they are lying still on the bottom as well. I would grab some frozen for now. You can...

A happy surprise but a surprise nonetheless!

These guys basically 'suck' the snail out of the shell. If you're finding empty shells, they are definitely eating the snails. Good job! They will be fat and sassy before too long. Just wait until they start to recognize you and swim out for you to feed them. I love this fish! Mine is currently...

    new with sick goldfish

No, fin rot is only on the fins. If they have white fluffy/cottony growths on their bodies, it is likely a fungal infection. This is most likely having to do with your tank being too small for the fish. Also, if this tank was not cycled, the fish will begin showing signs (such as this) of...

A happy surprise but a surprise nonetheless!

My little guy didn't eat for about four days when I got him and he was really shy. In fact, very rarely do I see him eat at all. I know he does due to all the empty snail shells he took out lol. Blood worms took him a few shots to actually start eating. Generally, I think they like to eat after...

A happy surprise but a surprise nonetheless!

I have blue and ghost shrimp in with my little puffer. He has left them alone thus far and he's been with them for quite awhile. Also, I have a couple of guppies in with him and he's left them completely alone. I do have a ton of plants in there, so there are plenty of hiding spaces. As for...

    Strange Worm in Aquarium..

I found one bright red worm in the roots of one my plants when I cleaned my shrimp tank yesterday. Looks sort of like a blood worm, but longer and, of course...live. I've never fed or introduced live worms, only frozen. In researching, there isn't a whole lot of info on these worms, but they...

    WTB Snails overtaking your tank??

I have a dwarf puffer that would LOVE to take them off your hands! I'm beginning to breed bladder snails in a separate tank for my puffer, but if you have some you'd like to rid yourself of, I'd be happy to take them. Just let me know how much you'd like for them! I'm in Corona, 92881 :)

    Blood Parrot aggression?

Thank you for your thoughts. I'm not sure of the sex of these two...not too sure on how to sex them. One is a bit smaller than the other and the larger one has a funky eye (I'm assuming genetic thing...he had it when I got him, pretty sure he's blind in one eye), other than that, no differences...

Does anyone else ever do this?

Yes! I found a small Yellow Lab in the 'Assorted Cichlid's' tank that I try to stay away from. Poor little guy was just getting whaled on by his larger tankmates. I bought him and he is now one of my biggest fish. So mellow and friendly. :)

    Blood Parrot aggression?

Ok...so I have had my two Blood Parrot's for about two years. They have always co-existed just fine, no issues, no aggression. Today, I did a water change and decided to move the decor around and change things up a bit. I've done this before without concern. Right after I finished adding water...

    hello, and help!

Definitely read the link to cycling a tank first. Secondly, your stock list is not going to work with your tank size...not to mention that most tropicals will eat shrimp. A pleco (if you are referring to the common pleco) needs a MUCH bigger tank than a 10 gallon. Once you've fully cycled your...

    Hi! Question?

You can post to the General Cold & Temperate Water forum or the Freshwater Newbie. I would probably post in the General Cold forum, as those with goldfish expertise will likely look there first. :)

    BSL (breed specific legislation)

I agree that all dogs have the ability to turn on you. I worked at vet's office for three years and will be the first to tell you that we very rarely had to muzzle a 'big' dog, even Pit Bulls. Generally, we had to muzzle smaller dogs, particularly Pomeranians and Chihuahua’s. However, I have...
