Thanks for the reply cradlefan. I think scud is the same as amphipod ( I could be wrong) and I also thought that my fish would have enjoyed these tiny creatures but better be safe than sorry. Thanks again.

Yeah, they are in fact scuds. My friend told me they were shrimp but didn't look much like those. I'll clean the java carefully to avoid introducing these in my tank. Thanks a lot for pointing out the scuds, I didn't know what a scud was until now.
