I saw this once before on another discus and never really figured out what it was, I treated the tank for ick to be safe but the white spots were kind of absorbed.

I got a few new discus and clown loaches for my tank and QTed them for almost 3 weeks with no incident. I moved them into the main tank and one of the new discus was acting strange right away, hiding and staying in the caves etc. The last few days he is back to normal eating like crazy but I...

I just has 2 plants flowering again last week! A nice thick stem shoots up in a few days and a white flower opens.

Thanks Roan, even though they are up to no good in the main tank I still had some bad feelings about the ordeal. We all know how easy they can develop ick when they get stressed. (provided there is a little bit of ick around) The discus tank is pretty warm so hopefully ick is non-existent.

I use the driftwood to get the bristlenose out of one tank. :D Lucky for me the bristlenose fry in that tank took off and left the wood when I pulled it out.

I have some kind of cold and have lost my voice along with a fever and the usually cold symptoms. :sick: I still need to keep up with my tank duties so I went down to clean the pre-filter for both filters. I took off the pre-filter and guard from the canister and washed them out really well...

I used to use a bilge pump for a boat, it is still mounted in my tank room but it is a bit scary if you suck up a snail, cory or some fry. It sure made for deep gravel cleaning when I had crushed coral and mbuna in the tank.

So did I, the problem was they got lost under the sand all the time and it's no fun screwing with 3' deep water to try and find a screwcumber hidden in the sand.

Blinky nailed it. I have my "moonlights" come on a little while before my main lights go out. The discus, rasboras etc all liked it, the neon tetras I had didn't care. They would still go zooming all over the tank like crazy when the lights went out just like they did when I had no moonlights...

In my big tank I use the suction cup clip like Victor, in my small tanks I jam a piece of shell in the middle of the cucumber.

Crank up the heat, probably just their slime coat... they shed it like crazy during shipping.

I have separated my small apple snails from my fry keeping a dedicated tank (well 2 actually) just for snails. They produce a lot of waste and for some odd reason drive the ph of the water way down, move them to a diff tank and the guppy fry will be happier.

To ease the tension in here I have the perfect thing... I call in "Pran with Purple string". It's the ultimate tank accessory. :D

They are cute, shy and come from a coldwater region. They shouldn't be in a high temp tank and keep in mind that most are wild caught which can introduce a whole load of problems to your tank.
