I can't find any info about these devices online. My LFS sells them, but I'm not sure how necessary one is for a healthy fish tank. It's winter now, but it gets pretty hot during the summer where I'm from. I'm assuming I won't need it, simply because I've never even heard of anyone suggest it...

The body, the lid, and most of all, the plastic valves where the tubing is connected to the lid. The valves seem very flimsy. Additionally, the plastic intake/outtake tubes that go in the tank are just kinda "shoved" into the rubber tubing, there's no parts that secure those together.

Fishorama, thanks for the advice! The day I placed my plants into my tank they started wilting. It stayed there, and the healthy leaves stay healthy, but 1/4 of all leaves have been dying for weeks, it's making the tank look ugly. I'll pick off the bad leaves as soon as possible

Have a similar problem as you. Some leaves are dying off, others are doing fine. Not sure if it's fine to snip off dying leaves for any plant at all? Or will this hurt certain types of plant? Cheers

Sort of! Honestly, at a first glance the neons seem too big to fit into it's mouth. I only saw him eat one - and he only managed to fit half of it. He spit it without managing to swallow it after about 20 minutes. Not sure if he did this with all the other fish too. The poor neon was chomped up...

Fairly young, but not extremely small. The larger one is around 2 inches tall, 3.5 inches with fins. I'd understand if he snipped one once every couple of days, but they've plowed through 20 of them in a week...

Sorry to hear about your fish. Neons can lose their colors completely when they die, I think. Maybe they're hard to spot? Or perhaps they're getting sucked in by the filter?
