How about attaching the CO₂ to the powerhead outflow and diffusing it into the aquarium that way under the substrate?

Also, I'm wondering about putting a CO₂ system in the sump. I could move the UV sterilizer and heater around, and put the CO₂ diffuser in the open slot. That would hide the equipment and leave a cleaner tank look. The question I have there is whether I should do that where the water is going up...
