Use Ich Attack by Kordon. It's an herbal remedy that I have used for the last few years with great success with all fishes, including clown loaches and synodontis cats, with no ill effects.
Green Terrors can handle a temperature range from the low seventies to low eighties. Slowly (over a few days) dropping the temperature of your tank to the low seventies could help.
SSSSSSSHHHHH! You want everyone to find out!;)
I have made out like a BANDIT on Craigslist....tanks, fish, reptiles, supplies....most for free. People feel good when they know their pets are going to a good home.
Did it look like this guy?

If so. it's a Honduran Red Point....a kinder, gentler "convict", but just as easy to breed. I keep them with severums.
I think that is for the best until the ACA finally lands on a position regarding the situation...by the way, I am breeding Tilapia Snyderae (about 70 fry at the moment) and growing out some Archocentrus nanoluteus to breed in the near future.
LOL....I have a box full of old lok rocks....they work fine. They provide plenty of hiding spots and are easy to set up, reconfigure, tear down and clean. They are also a favorite of Pam Chin of Cichlid Room Companion "Ask Pam" fame! (She goes nuts when they show up at a PCCA Auction!)

I think that is a great idea (I think I'll do it to!). Using a smaller canister filter with smaller tubing may make it easier to creatively hide the intake/outake with rockwork, driftwood, plantings, etc. The extra cleaning capicity and easy mainetenance of the external canister is a real plus...

You are on the right track! The only thing I use salt for regarding freshwater fish is to season them. I have used Prevent Ich and/or Ich attack by Kordon, which are esstentially the same thing, for about three years now. Excellent product, especially given the more nastier strains of ich...
I've got me hands in me tanks 'til I'm pruny! LOL.....I just rinse off my hands without soap before I start tooling around in the tanks. Most the time, gloves don't give me the grip or feel I need when I'm doing stuff in the tank. As far as cleaning the acrylic tank goes, you can buy cleaning...
I prefer the regular liquid test kits over the strips/sensors. The sensors are ok for general use, but I don't think they are as accurate as the regular test kits.
