    Peppered corys and friends

I have 8 Venezuelan Pygmy Corys or Salt and Pepper Corys. Small little guys, but I love them. Like lil peppered coryes, they def are awesome in groups. Not just bottom dwellers either, open water and highly active and funny to watch in groups. Keep looking they should pop up eventually and you...

My "female" molly is turning into a male...

I believe they call that opportunistic hermaphroditism or some biological term similar. Like when Ocellaris clown fish head alpha males die, the next biggest female then becomes a male! Crazy huh!

I thought octopuses had the fastest metabolism, until I saw my Crayzilla!

My neon red crayfish was sold in store as 99 cent "fire red lobster". I got him in my 60g planted, and as a baby he was the same size as my DAWRF CPO (Mexican orange dwarf which won't grow anymore, I love that little guy). Suffice to say this guy has TRIPLED in size in around 5 weeks, he munches...

Has ANYONE ever had their Nerite Snail eggs hatch

Such despondent news :( Wish I still had my brackish puffer tank, well...without the puffers lol

Has ANYONE ever had their Nerite Snail eggs hatch

I only have 2 bumblebee guys in my tank, but their starting to lay their extremely adhesive lol grains of rice all on the walls. I'd be nice if they hatch, but to my understanding they usually go back to saltwater or 1.1020 SG to breed. Does this mean they never will hatch in my tank, or is it a...

Anyone have fish that eat till they explode?! My female betta scares me!

Good advice Kaliska, I have frozen daphnia, blood worm, and brine from Hikari I will try to give to her mostly before I feed the community. I believe in variety for community otherwise, I do those forzen foods, live black worms or brine as treat once a week or so, New Line Spectrum small...

    I think I have springtails!

So feeding the guys today, I looked down from the top of my tank, and noticed little tiny, white specks jumping around on the surface of the water. Since I have so many floating plants, its like a paradise for whatever these critters/copepods are. To the best of my searching, I am guessing...

    How long do Kuhlis live?

I think on the lower end of the temperature spectrum, assuming you kept them their most of their life...they may be able to regularly live over 7 years with good care, decent amount of anecdotal evidence out there supporting this.

Filstar XP L output current too strong, miss the spray bar Rena used to have!

Well dougall, the spray bar 16mm is the same exact size as the fitting from my XP... I'll need a reduced/step down type thing. If I have time after work I am going to check Lowes tomorrow, I wish the generic set worked otherwise...the pieces do snap together easily though and I like how you can...

    What are these

Bing image results definitely matched, even with the tiny white area on the adipose fin. it wasn't in any of my 3 rare Atlases or Axelrods....wow even fishbase doesn't have a pic up. Must not be much on them, cool rare find of some South American characin...you going to get them. They seem very...

    What are these

Actually upon googling your scientific name, it seems to match the LFS description pretty good w the longer dorsal and hanging vental/pec fins...maybe the red line we see in some pics is part of dimorphism between M and F....still trying to find my Baesch Atlas though, I'm curious now too as to...
