Hi,
Man its been a while since I've been on here.
I am in need of some advice. My Red Devil has started having trouble staying upright when swimming and is getting stuck to the filter intake occasionally.
I *believe* this is something to do with the swim bladder? but its been so long I cant...
Hey,
Its been quite a while since I have been to the board. But for that one questions i posted in a hurry...sorry to anyone who anwsered that and then got no reply from me. Suffice to say my information was incorrect.
Anyway, I remeber several times people on the Board..in particular GEL...
This may sound silly but i need to know what will happen if someone dumped cleaners in a fish tank.
You see i have someone babysitting the fishtanks in my duplex and she thinks that someone went into my apartment and dumped cleaner in because there was a mostly empty bottle of windex and a...
get rid of them by trading them into your local fish store.
there is no need to trade in your fish if you are going to stay to small cichlids.
you could easily put some rams in with your fish.
that tank would be perfect if you dont put in the salvinii!
they are EXTREMELY aggresive and will give the others a very very hard time if they dont outright kill them.
with out the salvinii i think that would be an awesome tank.
a single dwarf gourami might be good.
maybe a couple of hatchetfish for topdwellers.
or maybe you could get some black neons or glo-lites to introduce some diffrent colours to the middle of your tank.
be careful about putting an adult male jag into a tank with two females. they are known to kill unwilling mates.
great pics! looks like a kinda artsy style you got going. and good subjects :D the discus are cute
if its is really really stressed out it might not show the gill spots.
it is most definatly not a sajica...thats in the archocentrus genus and they all look like convicts.
im gonna put my vote in for either a thoricthys or maybe amphlious.
it might be a trimac
hell it could be a...
salvinii are *extremely* aggressive fish. a breeding pair of them and a breeding pair of severums would more than likely end up with just a pair of salvinii.
i would stick with in the Thoricthys genus. the firemouths et all. they can be extremely attractive and while typically aggresive are...
i didnt say umbie =p
a dovii would be mighty mighty cramped in a 75gallon but it would be able to move.
but you are right I retract that part of my suggestions
parachromis dovii is a no no! :shake:
hex tanks are actually quite bad for most cichlids. because of the territory issue.
cichlids are bottom dwellers and so they all try and make a home on the bottom of the tank and hex tanks have very little area on the bottom that can lead to more conflict than in a regular tank.
having...
there is plenty you can do with a 75gallon tank
i know you say large fish but how large do you mean. do you want a monster that is going to get over a foot long or is one that is gonna get about 8-9 inches big enough???
if you want a footer then you couldnt really do more than one..but...
