when introducing new fish to your tank is it good to have the lights on or off?

i have gouramis i just dunno how to load them on here and yes your such "BIG" giant gourami does look altered, perhaps photoshop may have been used to make your such wonderful looking gourami so "giant".

if your going to choose a dark color you should go with black, it also brings out the fishes colors more to my appearance.

in that first picture it looks like a cherry barb.

go with neon tetras and/or cardinal tetras and maybe some guppies to go with the tetras.

since your tank is well stocked, i would go with one female blue gourami because males tend to be more agressive and defend there territory more strictly.

yes fish do sleep, it is easy to tell if barbs are sleeping because they are always head first and facing down.
