How is your water quality? As you probably know, ADFs typically try to "escape" poor water conditions.

What size tanks? What exactly are the water parameters? Have you added other new fish recently? What do you feed them? Are the tanks planted?

No, they will not come out of the water. If they do, they will die. Just like a fish. ACFs are best kept as species-only. It will indeed eat anything that can fit into it's mouth - and will try to eat anything that doesn't. They also will not hesitate to attack fish much larger than themselves.
