need clove oil euthanasia info asap

i've gotten clove oil at GNC before. here's another article on euthanasia with clove oil and alcohol: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-most-humane-way-to-euthanize-a-fish.htm Aquarium Products makes a euthanasia product too, which is just clove oil mixed with an emulsifier...

    Ich...

I recommend formalin. I'm currently using it to treat my Corys for a mild ich outbreak, and they're handling it fine so far after 24 hours of treatment. Make sure you increase aeration though because formalin removes oxygen from the water. I saw a med made by Wardley called "Ick Out - Sensitive"...

    Bio-filter safe meds/treatments

Unfortunately most meds don't say anything on the packaging about the possible ill effects on the bio-filter, and I know that it's not just the anti-biotic meds that can harm the bio-filter. Can we try and put together a list of meds/treatments that are known to be "bio-filter safe"...

Effective treatment of parasites in/on Corys

I have the beginnings(?) of a parasite infection in my 75g tank. I'm currently treating my Tiger Barbs with 'Quick Cure' (Formalin + Malachite Green) in a hospital tank. They definitely have some kind of external parasite, as I've observed them rubbing up on stuff quite a bit, although it wasn't...

I've been doing weekly 25% water changes and bi-weekly gravel vaccuming.

Switching to sand substrate, but worried about losing bio filter!

My 75g currently has a 1 inch gravel substrate that I'd like to replace with sand, but I'm worried about losing too much of the bacteria. The tank was cycled about 5 weeks ago with Tetra SafeStart. When I poured the stuff in I poured a little on my 2 bio wheels and the rest into the tank, most...

    glass tops hardwater stains

I don't understand how people have success with vinegar. I've tried soaking in undiluted white vinegar for 24 hours and it had almost no effect whatsoever. :(

How many Neon Tetras for a 29g?

I would like to have a large school of neons in a 29g. About how many can I put in there?

    Firemouth tankmates

I'm thinking about getting a Firemouth as the centerpiece for a 29g and was wondering if any of these would be good tankmates: Swordtail, Opaline Gourami, Bolivian Ram, German Ram, Kribensis

    Tiger Barbs (and friends) tank.

I've tried giving them freeze-dried bloodworms twice and both times they ignored them. the flakes are the "regular" TetraMin flakes and they don't seem to like eating it off the surface. They will eat some of it as it sinks, and then later I'll see them grazing a little. Perhaps they haven't had...

    Tiger Barbs (and friends) tank.

So far the Rainbow Shark is getting along with everyone just fine as long as they don't snoop around his caves too much. I've had Kribs in the past and they've always been very laid back, even more so than the RS. I've never seen a Krib mess with a non-Krib that didn't mess with him first...

    Tiger Barbs (and friends) tank.

Just recently restarted a 75g tank with 13 Tiger Barbs, 6 Peppered Corys, and 1 Rainbow Shark, and I might add a Krib at some point. I'm thinking of either adding more TBs only, or adding something other than TBs. About how many total TBs do you think I could go with if I don't add anything...

    Parasite?

Try varying their diet a little. Sometimes stringy poop is just a digestion issue.

    Rainbow Shark

I have a rainbow shark in a 75g with corys, rainbowfish, a gourami, and a krib, and haven't had any problems.

    Possibly sick fish

You could try a salt bath which may kill the parasites if they're external. Garlic doesn't actually cure anything, it just helps boost the immune system and "clean the pipes" so to speak.
