Something peaceful. Male bettas are usually fin nipping victims in community tanks. Cherry barbs would be a good choice here I think.

I have two tanks, one with Eco-Complete and the other with Flourite. My plants take root and grow better in the tank with Eco-Complete.

Pressurized CO2, lights on - Noon-8PM No CO2, lights on - 8PM-10PM No CO2, lights off, airstone on - 10PM-Noon I turn off the CO2 a couple of hours before lights out to save some CO2. The plants use what is already in the water. The pH goes up .1 or .2 during the two hours.

I've had two vendors (Atlanta Light Bulbs and E-LightBulbs) inform me that the GE 45851 - F55BX/AR/FS 9325K Aqua-Ray CFL's have been discontinued. Does anyone know what happened? They are my favorite bulb.

Yep, none of us ever suck on gravel cleaners or filter tubing to get a syphon going or stick our hands in the tank without wearing arm length rubber gloves. My advice stands. If you have cyanobacteria, don't mess around with it. Erythromycin works like a charm and I saw no adverse effects.

I called my local Petco and they did have one in stock. About $40. They only have the smaller tops listed on their website, so you need to call.

That's the one for the 50/65 with the center brace. Foster & Smith does not carry a versa top for the 40B without a center brace.. Perfecto also makes one. They are hard to find.

Just remember that the 40 gallon breeder does not have the cross-brace and needs a different cover than 50g or 65g 36x18 tanks that have the brace. Please don't ask me how I know this.:shakehead: Dead thread, but it came up on my search and may come up on others.
