How about a kenya tree coral? Been looking at those, been reading that they may like the top of the tank with some current? Read that Colt coral may be bad for my mumps leather, so that one's out. :(.
But someone told me that SPS don't do well with soft corals? (chemical warfare?). I traded in an SPS because someone said it may not like the soft corals, also my clowns didn't want it at the top.
That's easy and can take MH (150 watts, 30 gallon tank) I have a leather, zoos, some mushrooms and sponges in there now. Oh, and it has to meet the inspection of some teritorial tomato clowns too (so somthing that has some type of tenticles they like, if they don't like it's toppled! they...
the Hector goby swims around more than the randall's so I don't think I'll have an issue with those 2. The blenny though staked his claim on top of the next rock over from the clowns and their anemone. It's good he blends into the rock or there may be more trouble than there is now. I don't...
The only other fish I'd think of if I thin out the tank is a falco hawk. But that is if I get rid of the algae blenny. I read afterwards that they can get mean when they grow? He's so fat now it looks like he'll explode and he still eats!
Thanks Matt, was thinking mostly be a habitat for the anemone anyway, I just put in a few starter frags of the zoo's. The LFS said that the zoo's shouldn't be a problem, but I'm worried if they may be? I figured I was pretty much maxed out fish wise. Everybody except the clown fish are young...
LOL, I was going to go FOWLER too until I saw the clownfish and the anemone (yeah, I know I read articles on how hard they are to keep, but thinking I've come from keeping discus...). All the upgrades are to keep the anemone happy :). I believe I have around 20-25 pounds of rock. I think they...
I have one power head in addition to the skimmer, is that enough for a tank that size? the power head is a Hydor Koralia 1 (400GPH) in addition to the protein skimmer that came with a Maxi-jet 1200.
Yes, I just had the filter sleeve on my Hot Magnum and even with cleaning every week, there was some gunk on it (not a whole bunch, but enough to see when I rinsed it). With water flowing through it it was probably degrading my water quality :(. My anemone was not happy and retracted it's...
Well, about a month ago the plan was for it to be a FOWLR, but I think it quickly started turning into a reef. The LFS told me that it was OK to use my left over HOT magnum filter on the tank. BAD IDEA! Noticed things not being as happy, the tank wasn't dirty from what I could see, but not...
LOL, yeah, daily 50% plus WC, and it'll keep you up nights if you forget one :)
OK, what types of fish will fit, and have great personalities?
How about Hawkfish or dwarf angels? I want some colorful fish that'll make me want to convert.
What if I just have one fish in the trigger...
Thanks Jay,
I'm still keeping a planted discus tank in my 130 gallon. It's just that I want to do something other than water changes on too many discus tanks (given myself permission to just be a hobbiest and not try to breed and have multiple discus tanks anymore, well, for now at least...
I'd really like a trigger :(. Would my tank still be too small or incompatable for a trigger like a blue throut (Xanthichthys auromarginatus), pink tail or cross hatch trigger?
I've read that some of the others like clowns and picassos get really big and mean.
I have a 130 gallon planted discus, and then a bare bottom 60 gallon with a few discus. I'm thinking of converting the 60 gallon into a salt water aquarium. It has a canister on it (thinking of putting on 2). The LFS was saying I'd need to start with live sand and live rock? I just want a...
I have an excellent condition Current USA Orbit 48" power compact light system that will be too wide for my new tank (will fit, but I won't be able to access the water with the canopy ).
Here's a link to the type of unit I have on BigAl's...
